A suitable equipment specification can save many hours of set-up, cleaning and servicing time and cost.

 

Especially where different materials are being processed through the same equipment or stringent quality systems require a clear separation between each batch.

 

Starting with the design – minimising the number and complexity of fluid contact parts is always beneficial, because it reduces the number of parts that need to be cleaned.

 

Likewise, minimal moving fluid contact parts means reduced wear and extended service life between maintenance intervals.

Whilst filling speeds and outputs are very important, it is also critical not to overlook set-up, cleaning and servicing times, which can very quickly eat into output, especially where small runs/batches of different materials are being processed through the same piece of equipment.

 

Reduced set-up time, reduced cleaning and reduced servicing requirements all combine to maximise uptime, and reduce the total cost of ownership.
